The European Commission has chosen Time Machine as one of the six proposals retained for preparing large scale research initiatives to be strategically developed in the next decade. The C²DH/University of Luxembourg is a member of the Time Machine consortium.

The 6th DH Benelux Conference will take place on 11-13 September 2019 at the University of Liège (ULiège) in Belgium. DH Benelux is an initiative that aims to further the collaboration between Digital Humanities activities in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

The aim of the conference was generate and trace the “Provenance of Knowledge” as a core element in documentation. Provenance and Knowledge set a goal to verify the origins of the information and knowledge about an object which correlates to an idea in order to reconstruct the whole chain of creation, use, interpretation and dissemination of particularly information.

We are inviting submissions of papers to be considered for publication in the second issue of the Journal of Historical Network Research, which will appear in the autumn of 2018.

On the 23-24 November 2017, Francesco Beretta (CNRS/Université de Lyon, LARIAH) and George Bruseker (FORTH, Center for Cultural Heritage - Institute of Computer Science, Heraklion) invited several research groups from digital history, who deal with the production of historical data to Lyon. The gathered researchers started a consortium that will enable the interoperability of their historical data.

The annual conference of the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) took place on 8-11 August 2017 in Montréal (Canada) on the campus of McGill University, and was co-organised by McGill University and the Université de Montréal. This blog entry will draw a few impressions from the attended presentations.

Last week I attended the Oxford Digital Humanities Summer School and took part in the Linked Open Data workshop. The Summer School started out with TEI courses in 1997, but has now grown to include eight workshop strands for over 250 participants.

The fourth DHBenelux Conference was hosted by Utrecht University (the Netherlands) from 3 to 5 July 2017. Dr Florentina Armaselu presented a paper co-authored with Dr Elena Danescu, entitled "The Quest for Questions in Digital History: A Comparative View on Werner- and Delors Report on Economic and Monetary Union".
