"Exploring the fields of public history in Europe and beyond since I started my Master’s at Freie Universität Berlin, it seemed like a natural step to get in touch with the dazzling, cross-disciplinary (public) history lab named C2DH, and to apply for a visiting fellowship. Diving into participatory ways of doing history in, with and for the public, getting acquainted with less familiar realms of digital history and data science, and enjoying ESCH2022’s cultural program made my stay in Luxembourg worthwhile, instructive, and intellectually enriching. Being part of the C2DH research team encouraged me to focus on potentials and achievements, and to cherish the establishment of new contacts as a way to find a (research) home in yet another new and exciting place."  - Sophie Kühnlenz

Stay at C²DH from the 1 May to the 31 July 2022

"Several C²DH digital projects and members’ publications on national history, heritage and memory cross my research interests in public and national history. I am looking to developing a new research project at UCLouvain on Belgian national and regional history aiming at writing a decentered and pluralistic master narrative. The C2DH research environment gives me new incentives: discussions with researchers, conferences, workshops and other historical activities are fruitful. The workplace is very convivial; I also enjoy the facilities at the university and the commodities of Esch-Belval." - Geneviève Warland
