Nicolas is a PhD candidate working on the TransARB project

Nicolas Arendt is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) in Luxembourg working on the TransARB project which analyses the transformation of the ARBED company in both Western and former Eastern Europe since the 1970s. His research project is supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (AFR-FNR PhD Grant) and supervised by Prof. Dr. Machteld Venken and Prof. Dr. Philipp Ther in co-tutelle agreement with the Research Centre for the History of Transformation (RECET) at the University of Vienna.

He holds a bachelor's degree in History and a master's degree in Contemporary History which he completed with a thesis on Jewish Flight movements from Austria to Luxembourg during the Second World War. His other interests lie in Industrial History and Transformation History.
