Statement on Ukraine

Statement on Ukraine
The C²DH expresses its solidarity with the people of Ukraine and everyone who is affected by the consequences of this war.

The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) condemns in strongest terms the armed aggression against free and sovereign Ukraine by the Russian Federation in violation of international law. As academic institution specialized in history of 20th and 21st century, the C²DH also condemns Vladimir Putin’s misuse of narratives of the past.

We are deeply concerned about the threats to civilians and express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and everyone who is affected by the consequences of this war. We support members of the Ukrainian academic community, our colleagues and students, who are affected by these events. We express our solidarity with all the citizens in Russia and Belarus, who take to the streets and exercise their rights to protest against this war despite massive repression and police violence.

Together with these courageous voices that are trying to be heard, the C²DH will continue to speak out against armed violence and misuses of history.
