C2DH annual report 2019
For its third edition, the C²DH's Annual Report focuses on highly innovative research projects in the field of digital humanities.

2019 was an exceptional year for the C²DH in terms of activities, research output and staff growth. We were delighted to be awarded the FNR’s two most prestigious research grants, PEARL and ATTRACT. In October 2019, Prof. Sean Takats joined us as the new PEARL chair from the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media at George Mason University, where he worked for many years as Technical Director on such groundbreaking projects as Zotero and Tropy. Thomas Cauvin from Colorado State University will start his ATTRACT project on “Public History as the New Citizen Science of the Past” in June 2020. The rapid rise in research on history and digital technologies led to the launch of 14 new research projects in 2019, mainly made possible by competitive funding, especially from the Luxembourg National Research Fund, and public and private partnerships.

For its third edition, the Annual Report focuses on highly innovative research projects in the field of digital humanities. As well as finding out about the projects themselves, you can meet the researchers behind them through a series of filmed interviews. The report also presents the C²DH’s research results in 2019, its publications, ongoing PhD theses – including six that began in 2019 –, teaching activities, networks and partnerships.

We hope you enjoy the read!
