Andrew is a doctoral researcher

Andrew Pfannkuche received his B.A. in history from Illinois State University in 2020 and completed his master’s degree in contemporary European history in 2023 at the University of Luxembourg. He is currently writing a global history of May Day (International Workers’ Day) that traces how the holiday has evolved from its uncertain origins at Haymarket Square in 1886 to an international holiday dedicated to a brighter future that is just around the corner. Andrew is a former editor of The Activist and his other research interests include the intellectual development of political beliefs and ideologies, left-wing politics, and French history since 1789.
