Dalia Ofer is Emeritus Professor of Contemporary Jewry History and Holocaust Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

From 24 to 26 January 2018, the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) hosted several historians and other researchers for an international conference on some of the lesser-known aspects of the Holocaust.

This international conference will study the broad theme of the flight of Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany in the 1930s and their trajectories during the war and its aftermath from multiple perspectives.

The exhibit features interview highlights, various Sephardi artefacts, and gallery text providing historical context and an overview of the project. The exhibit will run from June 8th until September 7th, 2017.

The Jewish Museum in Prague currently shows an exhibition that presents the situation of the Jewish community during the “normalisation” period. The majority of the documents and photographs are being exhibited for the very first time and it is interesting to see audiovisual propaganda against the European Zionist movements captured on several newly accessible recordings.

Dans son édition d’avril 2016, la revue d'histoire luxembourgeoise « Hémecht » a publié l’article « Le Benelux et les réfugiés fuyant l’Allemagne nazie: les spécificités du Luxembourg » rédigé par Frank Caestecker et Denis Scuto.

This research examines differences in identity formation among generations of Czech, Slovak, French and Luxembourgish Jews who grew up either under communism or in liberal Western Europe. By gathering data, the aim is to create an international virtual library and cloud storage not only for professional educators, but also for the public. My focus is on the differences and similarities within and between generations, and on the changing historical and political circumstances of both state communism and established liberal democracy that have shaped individuals’ consciousness and identity.
