This first ForumZ offered an opportunity to explore the interaction between archives and researchers and between archives and the public in the digital age.
The event was attended by a variety of representatives from national, online and private archives in Luxembourg, and discussions soon turned to immediate and pressing issues such as the lack of digital expertise and proper funding. It became obvious that access to archival sources still has to overcome a number of obstacles and that the absence of a proper infrastructure is giving rise to uncertainties among archives and archivists as to their mission and public role in the digital age.
