This Bibliography is part of the major research project dedicated to the European vocation and achievements of Pierre Werner, a former Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Foreign Minister of Luxembourg, unanimously recognised as one of the architects of Economic and Monetary Union.

The history of the National Telecommunications Network for Technology, Education and Research, born in 1993, had its roots in the 1980s, when scientific actors started to build networks in France, in a simultaneous but still dispersed way. From the beginning, Renater was original: local initiatives preceded the implementation of a national infrastructure that became part of world exchanges.
