European television has a double connotation: it characterizes both the history and current existence of multiple television institutions and channels across Europe as well as the phenomenon of transnational, European television. Reaffirming the concept of Europe as “unity in diversity” and acknowledging the contested nature of Europe as a discursive character, both television and Europe can best be defined as projects that need to be continuously renegotiated and reinvented.

Analysing media coverage across several types of media-outlets is a challenging task for academic researchers. The PoliMedia project aimed to showcase the potential of cross-media analysis by linking the digitised tran- scriptions of the debates at the Dutch Parliament (Dutch Hansard) with three media-outlets: 1) newspapers in their original layout of the historical newspaper archive at the National Library, 2) radio bulletins of the Dutch National Press Agency (ANP) and 3) newscasts and current affairs programs from the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.

Les universités transfrontalières sont l’occasion de s’interroger sur le lien entre mobilité et valeurs européennes. Elles permettent la mise en œuvre de valeurs-clés de l’UE, telles que la liberté de circulation et l’égalité des chances, mais aussi d’incarner la politique de cohésion et le développement d’un espace caractérisé par la frontière, obstacle mais aussi atout au niveau européen. A ce titre, le projet Université de la Grande Région a été examiné par les participants à l’atelier afin de déterminer la notion et le cadre des valeurs mises en œuvre.
