Spero was a Senior Research Fellow.

Dr. Spero Simeon Z. Paravantis joined the University of Luxembourg in 2014. He was a Senior Research Fellow, working in the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History until December 2019. His main areas of academic interest combine early Cold War and transnational European history post-WWII. He is currently conducting research into the development of a common European Security Strategy in the early Cold War Period. From 2014 to 2017, he has been awarded four peer-reviewed research grants (funded by the Marie-Curie foundation, the University of Luxembourg, and the Luxembourg National Research funds - FNR). In 2017-18 he was a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley’s Institute of European Studies, where his is now a Senior Fellow. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy, and has lectured numerous courses in Contemporary European History and Methodology at the bachelor and master’s level, in Luxembourg, Greece, Italy, the UK and Canada.
