Hannah was a Visiting researcher

Hannah was a Visiting Research Fellow. She holds a PhD in Information Studies from University College London (UCL). Her doctoral thesis, defended in March 2021, examined the politics of digitisation during the current Irish national commemorations – the ‘Decade of Centenaries’ - and feminist commemoration of the 1916 Easter Rising through Twitter. Her doctorate was undertaken as part of a research and training consortium ‘Critical Heritage and the Future of Europe’ (CHEurope) and funded by MSCA Horizon 2020.

Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, she worked for the history website Century Ireland, funded through the national broadcaster RTÉ and Boston College Ireland, in research, production, and social media management.

Hannah also holds an M.Phil. in Public History and Cultural Heritage from Trinity College Dublin, where she did her dissertation on commemoration and digitally mapping civilian deaths during the 1916 Rising. She also completed her Bachelor’s degree in History and French at Trinity College, during which she spent her Erasmus year at La Sorbonne Paris IV.

Hannah’s research interests are in archives, digital public history, and feminist digital humanities.
