Carolyn is a Visiting researcher
Carolyn Birdsall is Associate Professor of Media Studies, University of Amsterdam. She currently leads the funded project TRACE (Tracking Radio Archival Collections in Europe, 1930-1960), which works with metadata extracted from historical archive catalogues to trace how radio recordings were archived, circulated and re-used across Europe during and after World War II. Her most recent book, Radiophilia, was released in September 2023. During her visit to C²DH, she will be conducting research about historical production practices at Radio Luxembourg, with a particular focus on its music library and archive facilities.
