The year 2018 – the second year of the Centre’s existence – was one of consolidation. A number of significant academic events took place, as well as opportunities for interaction between researchers and society, especially in the “Forum Z” events. The network of partners was considerably extended at both national and international level, new research proposals were developed, and the Centre’s first research results, such as the virtual exhibition on World War One, were presented. These innovative projects and products reflect the ambition of the C²DH to venture off the beaten track and find new ways of doing, teaching and presenting history. The Annual Report reflects this approach with an innovative digital narration style. It is available online in two languages.
The report outlines the major themes of the Centre’s research during the year, including the legacy of war, industrial heritage, the history of finance, migration and digital history, and gives a detailed overview of the year’s research, publications, presentations to the general public, lectures and PhD theses.
