Andrei Gelasimov, born in 1966 in Irkutsk, Siberia, is a philologist with a doctorate and an award-winning writer who has also won prizes in France ("Prix de la découverte au Salon du livre de Paris 2005"). His novels are filmed and translated into several languages. As part of the exhibition "Russia in the showcase of the National Library", which runs until December 5, he was invited to Luxembourg with the lecture "New realism and the decline of liberal ideas". "Die Warte" got an exclusive interview, conducted by Inna Ganshov.

This publication provides a record of the international conference organised by the CVCE and its partners — the Pierre Werner Foundation, Robert Triffin International, the European Commission Representation in Luxembourg and the University of Luxembourg — and held on 27 and 28 November 2013 to mark the centenary of the birth of Pierre Werner.

Although computational tools play an increasingly important role in the humanities, adoption of tools by scholars does not always reach its potential. One approach to this problem is user research to uncover the needs of the users. However, it is uncertain whether such user requirements can be generalized to a wider group of humanities scholars, and whether users are able to explicate their requirements for methodological innovation. We ask what the role of user research is in the Digital Humanities by discussing gathered user requirements for two projects.
