Medien und Buddhismus in Viktor Pelevins Roman «Buddhas kleiner Finger» (Čapaev i Pustota): Gefangenschaft und Befreiung

Medien und Buddhismus in Viktor Pelevins Roman «Buddhas kleiner Finger» (Čapaev i Pustota): Gefangenschaft und Befreiung

The work deals with Viktor Pelevin's novel Čapaev i Pustota and focuses on the author's literary processes that characterize his writing style. On the content level of the novel, the effects of the media that make consciousness sick are shown. In the aesthetic form of the novel, on the other hand, Buddhist strategies are implemented that can be understood as a healing countermeasure. In terms of method, the work is initially inherent in the text, drawing on narratology based on communication theory.

We applied a combined methodological approach by conducting an ethno- graphic study as well as a survey. Results show that Dutch journalists use relatively few digital tools to find online information.
