In the framework of the research project "Pierre Werner and Europe", interview with Yves Mersch, President of the Banque centrale du Luxembourg and Member of the Governing Council and General Council of the European Central Bank (ECB), carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 24 August 2010 at the Château de Sanem.

In the framework of the research project "Pierre Werner and Europe", interview with Charles Ruppert, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 25 August 2010 at the château de Sanem. The interview was conducted by Dr Elena Danescu, a Researcher at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: the personality and achievements of Pierre Werner, the rapid development and prospects of the international financial centre in Luxembourg, and the role of Luxembourg in the European integration process.

Dans les années 1960, dans un contexte d’ouverture économique et de réformes politiques, l’Espagne de Franco cherche à se rapprocher de la Communauté économique européenne. L’auteur montre comment le traitement de la demande espagnole par la CEE se fait en fonction d’interprétations forgées vingt ans plus tôt, pendant la guerre civile espagnole et la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
