The European Union is a unique and exceptional organisation in many respects. Its financial system, whose rules and structure are very different from those of national budgetary law, has changed a great deal and is still changing. The most significant changes include: — The unification of budgetary instruments. Initially, each Community had its own budget or budgets (administrative and operating). These have now been replaced by a single budget, the general budget of the European Union.

Der Beitrag geht der Frage nach wie Fritz Wüst, Professor für Eisenhüttenkunde an der Technischen Hochschule Aachen (1901-1921), Akteurskonstellationen konstruierte, um die Machtverhältnisse zu Gunsten der Aachener Hochschule zu verschieben. Wissenschaft und Öffentlichkeit werden dazu als Ressource füreinander verstanden.

The paper explores the medial construction and aestheticising of the war, examining current TV documentaries on the First World War. The first part consists in a detailed film- and picture analysis of wartime film material. The second part examines how TV authors work with this material. These two inquiries constitute the basis of a conclusive synthesis, which examines continuities and breaks in the narration these pictures transport. This paper offers a contribution to the discussion on the treatment of pictures in the media and in historical science.

Our lecture explores the medial construction and aestheticising of the war, examining current TV documentaries on the First World War. Two time planes are here intertwined: on the first level we see how the film medium during World War One lends to the industrialised war events a new aesthetic dimension. In the second, contemporary level, this film material is reassembled and charged with additional significance.

Warum ist Albert Speer auch heute noch als der „gute Nazi“ im kollektiven Gedächtnis der Bundesrepublik verankert? Ausgehend von der Kontroverse um die Anwesenheit Speers bei der Posener Gauleitertagung im Oktober 1943 zeichnet der Aufsatz das Ringen geschichtspolitischer Akteure um die Interpretation der NS-Vergangenheit nach. Dabei wird sichtbar, dass in den letzten Jahrzehnten die historische Forschung den Mythos Speer zerstört und ein neues Bild der Nationalsozialisten gezeichnet hat, aber in den Massenmedien weiterhin überkommene Deutungsmuster des „Dritten Reiches“ überdauern.

Le développement de la téléinformatique, et notamment des transmissions de données, va rap- procher deux techniques, celles des télécommunications et de l’informatique. Les ingénieurs œuvrant respectivement dans ces domaines découvrent au début des années 1970, au travers de la conception de réseaux à commutation de paquets, ce qui les rapproche mais aussi les oppose sur le plan technique, ou culturel.
