Totenhügel und Waldfriedhof - die Gräber und Friedhöfe für gefallene Wehrmachtssoldaten während des Zweiten Weltkriegs zwischen individueller Gräberfürsorge und nationalsozialistischem Totenkult

The German soldiers who fell during the Second World War were buried in large cemetery complexes throughout Europe. Construction and design guidelines drawn up by the Wehrmacht itself put national socialist ideology into a concrete form, furthering the myth of sacrifice for the fatherland. In the course of the war both the Wehrmacht and the architect had to adjust their plans to the realities of war; the "heroic" plans could not be realized.

Le Luxembourg aux origines de l'OTAN (1948-1953)

The aim of the master thesis "Le Luxembourg aux origines de l'OTAN (1948-1953)" is twofold. On the basis of a theoretical model studying the behaviour of Luxembourg as a small state in multilateral organisations, the thesis intends to analyse the Grand-Duchy's strategy in the negotiations leading to the creation of NATO and its first years of existence. In the second part, the research focusses on how the country's membership in the Transatlantic Alliance impacted its domestic policy.

Dynamic qualitative filtering for linked (geo)visualisations: a prototype for exploring the collective memory of Instagram posts

This paper describes a prototype geo extension to an open source graph-based tool designed for analysing co-occurrence in large multimedia collections of historical resources. Employing an interdisciplinary approach, combining tools and practices from humanities and geography, we explore how it can be extended to facilitate both social and spatial enquiry. For the prototype development we
