Andrew is a doctoral researcher

Andrew Pfannkuche received his B.A. in history from Illinois State University (2020) and his master’s degree in contemporary European history from the University of Luxembourg (2023). His dissertation, provisionally titled Making Global May Day traces the global history of the First of May (May Day) and asks how the holiday has evolved from a one-day strike for the eight-hour day to the international holiday dedicated to a brighter future that is just around the corner. Andrew is a former editor of The Activist. His other research interests include the intellectual development of ideologies, socialist and Marxist intellectual history, and French history since 1789.
