The centre aims to become a training trading zone – an experimental space for knowledge production at the intersection of data science and history. All of its research and outreach activities are supported by a digital research infrastructure and driven by a strong commitment to public history outputs. As a result, the digital and public history dimensions serve as cross-cutting trends that underpin every research initiative at the C²DH.

This innovative approach encourages researchers to explore the many possibilities offered by the digital age, from new methods for the exploration of historical sources and data storage to cutting-edge curation, analysis, visualisation and transmedia storytelling online. By embracing these new avenues, the C²DH continues to push the boundaries of historical enquiry and digital innovation.
