Michel R. Pauly is a PhD Candidate working on the WARLUX project

Michel holds a binational bachelor's degree from the University of Strasbourg and the University of Bamberg in History, during which he spent a semester at the University of Basel. He returned to Luxembourg to complete a master's degree in European Contemporary History at the University of Luxembourg. During his studies, he focused on Luxembourgish military history, specifically the Fräiwëllegekompanie (Volunteers’ Company), the predecessor of the Luxembourg Army, during the Second World War.

Since March 2020, he has been a doctoral researcher on the project “WARLUX - Soldiers and their communities in WWII: The impact and legacy of war experiences in Luxembourg”, funded by the National Research Fund.
