The interview treats two main topics: 1. the interdisciplinary student project between Universities of Luxembourg and University of Tambov, Russia, dedicated to the Luxembourgish-Russian crossroads of history and 2. the meaning of the city of Tambov in the contemporary history of Luxembourg, connected to the Luxembourger forcibly recruited soldiers in the soviet captivity.

Au cours de cette table ronde, il s'agira d'interroger "l'âge d'or" des femmes dans l'informatique, de questionner des formes d'empowerment mais aussi d'invisibilisation des femmes et les premiers pas vers la masculinisation de "l'informatique" (notion également à historiciser).

Ce discours proposait un parcours historique au cœur de 50 ans d’invention et de ré-invention de l’Office des publications de l'Union Européenne, et ce à la croisée de l’histoire européenne et de l’histoire des réseaux et technologies numériques. L’Office est en effet un point d’observation privilégié de ces évolutions, qui bien sûr ne sont pas linéaires et connaissent des temps de doutes comme d’accélération.

Interview with Yevgeny Vodolazkin: In 2013, Yevgeny Vodolazkin received the most important Russian literary prize, the "Bolshaya Kniga," for his book "Lavr" (Laurus in the English translation). His latest novel "Brisbane" has been nominated. Vodolazkin was born in 1964 in Kyiv. He studied literature, specializing in Old Russian literature. Since 2000 he has been working at the Institute of Russian Literature in Saint-Petersburg.

The present study reports on the user experience (UX) of rich-prospect browsing, an emerging interface design trend for digital cultural heritage. Building on research that suggests online museum collections are used only infrequently by the general public, this study investigates the role of next-generation user interfaces in the design of optimal browsing experiences. Moreover, it describes the results of user testing for three different arts and culture collections that make use of rich-prospect.

This special issue, which includes a translation of part of the conclusion of Serres’ thesis on the emergence of ARPANET (a work which is relatively unknown in the English-speaking community), two original articles and two interviews, is linked to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the ARPANET and the desire to reconsider, 50 years on, the birth of this heterogeneous network that has left such a deep mark on the history of data networks.
