When the first ForumZ with the topic Archives for the digital era, organized by the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH), took place on 11 February, many interested people found their way to the Casino – Forum d’art contemporain in Luxembourg City on that Saturday morning. Thanks to the hashtags #ForumZLu and #archivesforthefuture, they could also actively participate in the debates over the Twittersphere.

The ForumZ series started with an event on “Archives for the digital age. Challenges and opportunities” at the Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain.

On 25th March, the C²DH organised another successful ForumZ, this time on the Second World War and research perspectives in this area. The format chosen for the event promoted an interactive exchange between the public and the guest speakers.

In the course of the twentieth century, various generations have documented and materialized their family memories on film, video and digital media. But how have these changes in technologies of memory shaped new forms of recording and screening as family memory practices?

Members of the C²DH are preparing a course in Digital Public History for Bachelor students at the University of Luxembourg and they reflect on ways to get them involved with the topic.

An exhibition and book project resulting from a collaboration between the FAMOSO research team (C²DH) and the Centre national de l’audiovisuel (CNA – National Audiovisual Centre).

The second ForumZ analysed the history, memory and legacy of the Second World War, exploring issues related to the occupation, the resistance, collaboration and Jewish persecution.

The virtual exhibition of the history of Radio Luxembourg / RTL is the result of a research seminar at the University of Luxembourg, curated by students of the Master in Contemporary European History under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Fickers.
