Christopher was a doctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg's Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) and member of the Human-Computer Interaction Research Group. Under the supervision of Dr. Vincent Koenig, Christopher investigates the application of user experience (UX) design methodologies in the development of next-generation interfaces for museums. His research interests include the psychology of aesthetics, art history, experience design, and data interoperability (IIIF / LinkedArt).
Before coming to Luxembourg, Christopher was Senior Research Computing Specialist for Arts & Humanities Research Computing (DARTH) at Harvard University. In this role he supported faculty research as a consultant and technical developer, taught digital humanities training workshops for the Harvard community, and organized numerous symposia on the intersections of art and technology. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language and Literature from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a master’s degree in Religion, Literature, & Culture from Harvard University, and a second master’s degree in Digital Media & Instructional Design, also from Harvard.
Christopher obtained his PhD in Septmber 2021.
