This book comprises short thought-provoking pieces that invite to discussions, raise and suggest the issues, challenges, opportunities, tensions, conceptual and research terrain, cultural, political, social, economic and industrial dynamics, distinctive historiographic and theoretical underpinning that characterise the emergent field of Internet histories.

Cultural Heritage education relies on a solid foundation of scientifically validated knowledge. This case study shows how different disciplines come together to source, combine, and interpret data for a landscape reconstruction of Larochette, Luxembourg. It is the initial stage of a larger interdisciplinary project to create an educational game that highlights the tangible and intangible heritage that can be traced in the town's structures even today.

This paper draws upon different media, their contents, close relationships to lived life, and the memories and stories evolving around them. Challenging linear historical time, the paper looks at the interconnectedness of different media and how these connections and constellations shape histories. The different media analysed in this paper are perceived as an interactive and active collective of “ongoing moments” (Dyer 2007) and nodes that reinforce each other and relate to different audiences (e.g., Edwards 2009).

Cultural routes, defined as routes of historical importance that geographically represent the shared and living cultural heritage of different countries, have recently gained attention both as tourist destinations and as social repositories of collective local memories. In this paper we argue that the recent development of digital humanities can open interesting new perspectives for the empirical exploration of these routes as cultural objects.

Ever since its landmark decisions Van Gend en Loos and Costa v. ENEL, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has played a key role in the so-called ‘constitutionalization’ of the European legal order. The fact that its jurisprudence has given EU law a proto-federal framework has been demonstrated, analyzed and commented in countless publications by legal scholars and social scientists, who have tried to grasp how the ECJ could consistently pursue its active prointegration path without provoking a rebellion by the Member States.
