BLIZAAR - Hybrid Visualization of Dynamic Multilayer Graphs

BLIZAAR project develops new visualization techniques for the exploration of multimedia document collections

BLIZAAR is an interdisciplinary research project on advanced network visualisations with partners in Computer Science, History and Biology funded by the Luxembourgish Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR) and the French L'Agence nationale de la Recherche (ANR). The project develops new visualisation techniques based on researcher needs for’s data and for data generated in biological research. The digitised sources in the’s collections on the European integration process contain information on the rich interplay and relations between thousands of people, institutions and locations. All these relations can be understood as part of a large, highly complex network in which people, organizations, places, multimedia documents and document collections are connected across time.

The project started in January 2016 and will run for three years. For C2DH Dr Marten Düring leads the work package Conceptualization and Evaluation. The other consortium partners are the Luxembourg Institute for Science and Technology (LIST) and French partners Laboratoire Bordelais de Recherche en Informatique( LaBRI) and Ecole Internationale des Sciences du Traitement de l’Information (EISTI).
